My friends and I are involved in a lot of winter intramural sports. Winter is a slower quarter and it helps pass the time. We are 2-0 in broomball, but we are 0-2 in basketball. Maybe we should stick to the ice.

My senior design group met with Dave Mace, OU’s electrical maintenance engineer. The purpose of the meeting was to figure out a way to gather information about the campus’s buildings’ electrical consumption. A major component of my capstone project is to create an electronic model of the OU campus. This model will help in evaluating the current system for efficiency and reliability, as well as preparing for more future growth.

This week was the start of our engineering senior design project. I was teamed with three other ISE students to help redesign a textbook distributor's warehouse in nearby Nelsonville. We all went out for a tour and our first meeting with the manager of operations. We are all excited to have a real world issue of which to apply what we have learned the past three and a half years.

This week began my first volleyball game of the winter intramural volleyball season. I have played with the same three guys and two girls for the past three years in the competitive league. We won all three matches and are feeling confident in our ability to finally take home the big win this season!

My dad came down for dads weekend which he enjoyed. Being away from the college atmosphere for a while, he told me about the different experiences he had in college and we ate lunch at a great pizza place called Courtside. It was good to show him Athens and take him around the campus.

This is dad's weekend at OU, which is always fun. My papa was in Florida so I had to enjoy the rest of the dads who were in town. I went to see a hilarious comedian that was brought into Baker, our student center. I also enjoyed entertainment last night by Chris Logsden, a singer and entertainer from Columbus, who was playing at BW3s.

Last night, I spent the evening hanging with close friends. We ordered dinner from China Fortune and headed off to the OU vs. Eastern Michigan hockey game. Although I had been to a couple games in previous years it was nice to get back to the action packed Bird Arena and cheer for our Bobcats. Even though the Bobcats lost 3-6, the game was filled with a couple fights and lots of goals keeping us cheering the whole time. After the game the evening ended with all of us hanging out and catching up on good times.
