Well senior design is finally finished. On Friday, my group presented our design for our bridge to a panel of professors, graduate students and design engineers. The presentation went very well and we were able to discuss many different aspects of our design with the engineers who are currently in the field. Afterwards, we went out to Dr. Steinberg's house where we enjoyed an end of the year dinner with everyone who was in attendance. It was a great way to finish our senior design.
I currently have two remaining finals and am then finished with college. This summer, I will be starting employment as a Field Engineer with the Highway division of Kokosing Construction. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life. Congrats to all graduating seniors and good luck!

Although it is incredibly hard to leave OU after four years, I have an exciting journey awaiting me! I will be vacationing with the family in Hawaii for two and a half weeks, spending time at our lake house the month of June and then am off to Kenya for the entire month of August. I will be working with a volunteer organization in Kenya to help children in the community.
I delayed my job start with Abbott, a pharmaceutical and nutritional company based out of Chicago, for six months in order to be able to have these experiences. I will start in Abbott's Professional Development Program in January. It is a two-year program in which I will rotate through four different jobs in different locations across the U.S. and internationally.

The quarter is winding down and everyone is dreading finals. (I wouldn't call it a calm before as storm, since our homework hasn't really stopped.) Beyond exams, though, I have an internship in North Carolina that I'm really excited about. It is with RTI International, and I'll be working with their Center for Energy Technology on hydrogen production technology.
RTI is in Raleigh-Durham, and I'll be living at NCSU's intern housing - so hopefully I'll be able to check out their graduate school program and be able to hang out with some other kids there. It'll be different for sure!

My senior design team is in the final stages of our project and is to present to our company our
analysis and recommendations this upcoming week. It has been such a great experience to apply a
variety of methods and tools we have learned these past four years to real issues a company is facing. The final costs analysis have been performed and the potential savings are huge! We are excited to be able to finally share the results of our hard work.
