Halloween weekend starts today!
Fortunately, my unit (United States Air Force) did not call me in for drills this weekend and I will be able to enjoy the Halloween weekend with my friends.
Halloween has been a huge event for Ohio University for a long time. It's not an event only for our students--faculty, alumni, local people and students from other colleges from Ohio, WV and more enjoy the weekend as well. Tonight, a few of my friends will be coming down from Penn State to celebrate our greatest event, THE HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!
This weekend, there are several events that will be held at our university. Tonight, the School of Music's Symphony Orchestra will be performing with the Halloween custom at Memorial Auditorium at 7:30. Also the Bobcat men’s basketball team will be going against Taylor. And lastly tomorrow night, Court Street will be blocked for us to enjoy our Halloween night!

Homecoming weekend! It may mean the most exciting weekend for the most students, but unfortunately it won't be for me. I will be driving to my duty station and working/training for the weekend. I am a Logistics Manager with the Ohio Air National Guard and this weekend is our drill weekend of the month, so I will be driving to Zanesville, Ohio. Being in the military while in college, you get many benefits out of it such as tuition waiver, GI BILL, etc. But on the other side, you may lose the fun on some weekends.
This week is our university homecoming weekend, many of alumni and students will be visiting our university. During the homecoming weekend, there will be athletic games such as football, soccer, field hockey, swimming and diving and more! GO Bobcats! Also there will be other events such as jazz concerts, BBQ, free coffee give out, parades, tailgating and more. As you can see, I will be missing out on bunch of events but I hope everyone enjoys homecoming weekend!

This week was week 5 of the quarter, which means that it was one of the midterm weeks at our university. I’ve had three midterms this week from Tuesday through Thursday. I’ve had Accounting, Business Law and Aviation exams. It was pretty intense, with all of the exams, but I believe my effort and time I put it for them paid off.
When I study for classes, I utilize Alden library. It’s a great 7 floor library with many computers and desks. It helps me to focus on studying rather than studying at home. Also at the Alden library, we can rent movies, CD’s and even magazines for free.
It was a brutal week but I’m glad that it’s finally over and now I can relax for few days and enjoy the weekend with friends.

| Posted by Kyu Lee Senior, Aviation This week has been absolutely busy for me. I had to attend several meetings throughout the week. On Monday, I had to attend the General Assembly meeting for ISU (International Student Union) to represent Korean Student Association. It was our first meeting of the quarter, talked about our upcoming year budgets and upcoming events. I’ve also attended the Russ College of Engineering Scholarship, Engineering Ambassador, Alpha Eta Rho (Aviation Business Fraternity) and Alpha Omicron Alpha (Aviation Honor society) meetings. It has been rough week but at same time it was a big accomplishment for me other than my academics. This weekend, I settled down a little bit to catch up with my academics and exercises. I went to Ping (the Ohio University Rec Center) to play soccer, where there were about 15 people showed up to play pickup games. For people who are interested in playing soccer after classes, there are pickup games every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays. Usually we start at 6pm during weekdays and 5pm on Saturdays. |
